Laura Owes

Specialty Training Coach (Setters)

A message from Coach Laura:
This is my second year coaching at EVJ and I am very proud to be a part of this well-established and respected club. Although I am fairly new to this volleyball club, I am no stranger to the volleyball court. I played volleyball for 9 years, 4 of those years at the University of Arizona.  I love the game of volleyball and believe that volleyball is a great way to develop a person in a way that has benefits off the court (and in real life). As a player, one has to learn how to work with a team (team work); one has to take responsibility for themselves, their mistakes, and their successes; one has to learn to be accountable; one has to learn how to take risks; and one has to learn how to effectively communicate with peers and superiors (coaches). I believe that these attributes become highly developed through the rigors of practice and competition. I am looking forward to this upcoming season and I am excited and grateful to be given the opportunity to give back to a sport that has given me so much.
