EVJ seniors committed to play at the next level

Congratulations to EVJ's Class of 2018 seniors who have committed to playing collegiate volleyball.  Many in this group have been playing volleyball together since the 4th grade.  Together they have played in two national championship matches, winning one as 14's and finishing as runners-up as 16's.

This star studded class is led by OH Darian Clark, who committed to the University of California, Berkeley as a sophomore.  Darian touches 10'+ and was a highly recruited athlete throughout her prep career.  Kayla Matthews is staying local and heading to GCU.  Some say she's had the hardest role on the team playing behind Darian but without Kayla's explosiveness and team player mentality, this team doesn't reach two national championships.  Darian and Kayla often dominated on the outside for EVJ.

Gabby Leo, daughter of EVJ Club Director Jen Leo, and sister of EVJ alum Jessica Leo, joins her mother and sister as Division I volleyball athletes. Gabby will be joining the University of the Pacific in Northern California in the West Coast Conference where she will set for the Tigers and play beach.  Tatum Rohme will stay local and set for Arizona State.  Tatum follows in her Mom's footsteps, Jamie Rohme, as a Division I volleyball athlete.  Gabby and Tatum are childhood friends and together they quarterbacked their team as setters since 4th grade.

Ryann Davis, daughter of Danielle Davis an EVJ and GCU alum, will take her talented skillset up north to play for Northern Arizona University. Ryann makes everyone around her better and is one of the best Right Sides to ever play at EVJ.  Ryann's energy and passion on the floor is contagious, she's been the heart and soul for many years.

Lexi Johnson will be joining the Hoosiers of Indiana.  At 6'3" tall, Lexi's presence at the net cannot be overstated.  Daughter of Lisa and Randy Johnson, Lexi brings Dad's competitiveness to the court every match.  Lexi's counterpart in the Middle, Kennedy Kaminsky will attend Eastern Washington University.  Kennedy has a mean hammer and crazy strong block at the net.  Kennedy and Lexi have been a 1-2 punch in the middle at EVJ for many years.

Alyna Draper and Courtney Dyer both head to college to play Libero/DS.  Alyna will head east and attend Virginia Commonwealth University. Courtney will take her talents to Southern California where she will attend Point Loma University.  Together Alyna and Courtney have been this teams dynamic defensive duo for a few years.  While the Libero position becomes a much more strategic position in the game today, Alyna and Courtney are two of the best coming out of Arizona.

Lauren Lipinski, Class of 2018 RS hitter for EVJ 17N2 last club season has accepted a scholarship offer to play at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia.  Chestnut Hill is a Division II school that plays in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. Lauren visited the campus in April and fell in love with the school.  She is super excited to continue her volleyball career and all of us at EVJ wish her a happy and healthy collegiate career.
