A message from Coach Marina:
As I enter my 7th season with EVJ I will be coaching the 17 Elite team.  I’m thrilled to be a part of this highly competitive and very talented group. 


As a former EVJ Player, having played for Jen Leo, I am proud to be part of the EVJ family. I believe that volleyball teaches life lessons: discipline, work ethic and accountability. I’ve had the privilege of coaching highly successful teams competing in regional and national championships.  I look forward to putting in the effort and work with my new team this season.

Playing Experience:

  • Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ (2005-2010, Setter)
    - H    elped to lead the Sun Devils to their first NCAA appearance since 2002 in 2006
    - Named to the Pac-10 All-Academic team three times
    - Named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District team, twice
    - #2 all-time in career assists at ASU (passing her one time coach and now Club Director, Jen Leo)
  • Chandler High School, Chandler, AZ (Class of 2005)
    - F    our varsity letters under head volleyball coach Darrin Ashmont
    -     Captain of the volleyball team as a junior and senior
    - Two years on the varsity basketball squad
    -     Mercer was named an     AIA Scholar Athlete and received several scholar-athlete awards and the Superintendent's Citizenship Award.
  • Club Red Juniors (2002-05)
    - Played for current EVJ Coach Joe Hesse and former EVJ Coach and Player Courtney Blocher.
  • East Valley Juniors (1999-01)
    - Played for Jen Leo current EVJ Club Director

- Mercer was part of six teams that were Arizona Region Champions on the club circuit
